Skagit Tulip Festival 2015

The 2015 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival at TulipTown, La Conner. My expectations of Holland are entirely based on WWII movies and tourist-trap towns like Lynden and La Conner… I’m certain that the entire country is just tulips, windmills, and blonde women in wooden shoes milking black and white cows.

TulipTown had an open field of flowers and a separate, indoor bouquet room showing different varieties of plants. The weather was rapidly moving between dark cloudy to light cloudy to sunny. The indoor portion was very poorly lit, and had a very colorful and busy painting for background. Both displays provided challenges for my less-than-stellar photosnapping skills (today was aperture settings practice). Still, things turned out much better than last year’s eye-bleed colors that belonged on an Andy Warhol painting. As always, click for larger images.

A lot of photos came out blurry, but thanks to photoshop they don’t have to be wasted!
